Bring Back

"Bring back my bonnie to me."

This song is not a folksong about a lover longing for his lass. It's a song about a longing for leadership that stood for freedom of worship, that was deposed and exiled, to be re-asserted in the land. The song is about Charles Edward Stuart, who was commonly known as Bonnie Prince Charlie. His grandpa, James II, was deposed in 1688.
