Make your own kind of music

I had this song recorded by "Mama" Cass Eliot, in my head when I awoke this morning:

Nobody can tell ya
There's only one song worth singing
They may try and sell ya
Cause it hangs them up to see someone like you

But you've gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along

You're gonna be nowhere
The loneliest kind of lonely
It may be rough going
Just to do your thing's the hardest thing to do

But you've gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along

So if you cannot take my hand
And if you must be going
I will understand

You've gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along

You've gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music

The message here is that each person is unique and the song is an encouragement to be your self. Each person God creates as unique as each snowflake. God is a God of creative hand crafting and not mass production copies.

God is oh so creative. He would be, since he is the creator. The creative arts belong to God. He is the original poet, artist, architect, writer, and on and on.

God is also the Father. He invented the term. He nurtures and encourages. He is never boring. God has good ideas.

All this is to say that I think God encourages you and me to be ourselves. Be uniquely who you were created to be.
