octagonal church

Did you know that some of the first buildings for church meetings were octagonal? That's
an eight sided building. The seating was in the round. The minister is below the congregation and people could look at other people's faces. This style of architecture continued into modern times and many of these church buildings are still functioning today. Pictured are the interior of a building in Denmark, the exterior of one in Canada, replicating one in Georgia, and these are the ruins of an octagonal church in Macedonia.
