The paradox of brokeness in the Christfollower

I read a man's testimony the other day. God intervened in his life in 1985 and turned him away from suicide and gave him new life. Unfortunately, this man has had many troubles over the past 24 years; including losing his marriage, but he still loves the Lord and seeks to follow him. He freely mentions the divorce and many other failures as part of his (ongoing) testimony. God saved this man and the man started walking with God, but it wasn't finished there.
