In Pain and Sadness I Cry To You Lord

Listen to my words, Lord,
  consider my lament.

Hear my cry for help,
  my King and my God,
  for to you I pray.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
  in the morning I lay my requests before you
  and wait expectantly.
-Psalm 5:1-3 (NIV)

In pain and sadness,
I cry to you Lord.
I am tempted to blame others or shame myself.
Instead I turn to you.
For you are my salvation.

I am lonely and tired,
restless and anxious.
But you are my rest:
my home, and my place.
In you I put my hope.

My vision has faded,
and I do not hear.
It feels like everyone is opposing me.
But in you I put my trust.

Again I receive your forgiveness
and seek to live in your grace.
To you I yield.
I know you love me,
and I love you back.

This is where my life began,
and where I will live from again today.
For out of you flows my life.
All that is fulfilling and joyful comes from you.

When I am tempted to blame others,
selling myself as being right.
When I am tempted to bash myself with shame,
as being wrong;
neither is the path that I want to be on.

You are The Lord who is our Righteousness.
You are the way for me.

Humbly walking in your love is my destiny.
Your grace is my friend.
Discovering, exploring, and exercising faith;
in what you are building,
is my passion.
