Prayers

I praise You seven times a day for Your righteous judgments.
-Psalm 119:164

Here are seven scriptures with prayers:

One

You, God, showered abundant rain;
You revived Your inheritance when it languished.
-Psalm 68:9

"God, shower down rain upon us.  Revive Your inheritance, that has languished.  Give us grace that we do not deserve.  Bring us who have been dying back to life."  Amen.

Two

Let my vindication come from You,
for You see what is right.
-Psalm 17:2

"Lord, clear me from all accusations and suspicions.  Let your justification of me be known.  Clear Your people who have been falsely accused and let what You see be seen by all."  Amen.

Three

When they persisted in questioning Him, He stood up and said to them, “The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”
-John 8:7

"Jesus, help us, through your presence among us, to stop accusing one another.  Jesus, please reveal and confront religious self-righteousness among people who claim God's name.  Let feigned disgust and judgmentalism be shown for what it is and be given the grace and chance to be repented of or exposed and judged."  Amen.

Four

God, do not keep silent. Do not be deaf, God; do not be idle.
-Psalm 83:1

"God, speak to us.  Hear and respond to the prayers of Your people.  Speak out loud and let us know what you are saying.  We ask that You would move and let us see what You are doing."  Amen.

Five

Why am I so depressed?
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God.
I am deeply depressed;
therefore I remember You from the land of Jordan
and the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep in the roar of Your waterfalls;
all Your breakers and Your billows have swept over me.
The Lord will send His faithful love by day;
His song will be with me in the night—
a prayer to the God of my life.
-Psalm 42:5-7

"Lord, we are depressed.  Lord, we are restless, disturbed, upset, and in turmoil.  Lord, recenter our hope onto You.  Help us to praise You again from pure, cleansed hearts.  We are discouraged and feel low.  Give us hope in You again, Lord.  Help us to remember You and call You to our minds, as we look upon our land.  Take your depressed people into a deep dive of Your grace, Your mercy, and Your love.  Cleanse us and renew us in Your self again.  Let us know again Your faithful love by day and Your singing presence in the darkness.  Let Your song to us become our prayer to You."  Amen.

Six

“I will come to you in judgment, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the widow and the fatherless, and cheat the wage earner; and against those who deny justice to the foreigner. They do not fear Me,” says the Lord of Hosts.  “Because I, Yahweh, have not changed, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.

“Since the days of your fathers, you have turned from My statutes; you have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of Hosts.
-Malachi 3:5-7

"Lord, Yahweh, we know that You never change, but we do.  God, forgive us for walking away from You.  Lord, let us return to You and turn away from our sins.  Yahweh, God, we humbly ask you to forgive us and cleanse us our our sins, that You have convicted and convinced us of.  Forgive us for practicing witchcraft.  We repent of cheating on our wives and husbands.  Forgive us for being liars.  We are sorry for treating people who have suffered the loss of their most loved one badly.  We have not taken care of the orphans and for that we are sorry and want to do better.  We have cheated each other out of fair pay and loved money more than You; forgive us.  We have also turned our backs on people from other nations who have been uprooted.  We have not been merciful nor generous.  Forgive us and help us be like You.  Lord, help us to fear You again and walk in Your ways.  We choose to return to You.  God, help us."  Amen.

Seven

Now this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in Him. If we say, “We have fellowship with Him,” yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say, “We don’t have any sin,” we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
-1 John 1:5-10

"God, let us walk in Your light.  We have lied to ourselves and each other, and have walked in the darkness of lies.  We want to come back into Your light and walk in truth, telling the truth to ourselves and to each other.  God, cleanse us from all our sins with the blood of Jesus.  Help us to stop deceiving ourselves.  We have not only lied to others, but to ourselves and we want to now stop being deceivers and start walking in integrity.  We confess ours sins, our specific, personal sins, and the sins of our people.  We choose and desire and ask for your grace, help, and presence to stop lying and to be truthful.  We have sinned and ask for You to cleanse us with the blood of Jesus, from all of our unrighteous ways.  Amen.
