Spurgeon:
The theme is that ancient stumbling-block of good men, (think Job's friends) - the present prosperity of wicked men and the sorrows of the godly. Heathen philosophers have puzzled themselves about this, while to believers it has too often been a temptation.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-92) was England's best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000—all in the days before electronic amplification.

Don Williams:
This psalm will demonstrate that this confession is true- God is good to Israel. The word good signifies all of God's graciousness and blessing to His people.
In the context here it includes the gifts of God's presence, God's power, God's wisdom (v. 23), and God's ultimate purpose: "And afterward you will receive me into glory" (v. 24).

Williams:
The parallel member in verse 1 defines Israel more specifically as those who are "pure in heart"." In Ps. 24:4 the pure in heart is the person who has not worshiped idols or dealt dishonestly, "sworn deceitfully." His heart is clear and open toward Yahweh.
In Psalm 73:1 the soul looks out, and reasons on what it sees there; namely, successful wickedness and suffering righteousness.

Look up, straight up, and believe what you see there. What will be the conclusion? You will understand the "end" of man, and trace the "way" of God.

Matthew Henry:
-Good thoughts of God will fortify us against many of Satan’s temptations.
-Those are the Israel of God that are of a clean heart, purified by the blood of Christ, cleansed from the pollutions of sin, and entirely devoted to the glory of God.

The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved.
