The word for today
Luke 17:24
1 Samuel 3:11
The Lord said to Samuel, “I am about to do something in Israel that will cause everyone who hears about it to shudder.
Psalm 68:9
You, God, showered abundant rain; you revived your inheritance when it languished.
Psalm 72:1
Of Solomon.
God, give your justice to the king and your righteousness to the king’s son.
Psalm 17:3-4
You have tested my heart; you have examined me at night.
You have tried me and found nothing evil; I have determined that my mouth will not sin.
Concerning what people do: by the words from your lips I have avoided the ways of the violent.
Psalm 18:9

Psalm 19:1
For the choir director. A psalm of David.

Hosea 2:1-3
Call your brothers: My People
and your sisters: Compassion.
Rebuke your mother; rebuke her.
For she is not my wife and I am not her husband.
Let her remove the promiscuous look from her face and her adultery from between her breasts.
Otherwise, I will strip her naked and expose her as she was on the day of her birth.
I will make her like a desert and like a parched land, and I will let her die of thirst.
1 Corinthians 7:10
To the married I give this command—not I, but the Lord—a wife is not to leave her husband.
Psalm 119:5
If only my ways were committed to keeping your statutes!
A note on divorce: 1 Corinthians 7:10 is not written to condemn divorced people, but was and is a rebuke to "easy divorce" or divorce without a deep process of disengagement from a serious covenant. The reason I give this word today, is because God's people too easily divorce each other. Instead of being know as a unified bride of Christ, we are divorced from one another, over everything but Christ. In a way, the bride has divorced, left, her husband, Christ, because she wants nothing to do with the other parts of his bride whom he loves.
