The word for today

Don’t let my brutal enemies attack from all sides and kill me.

Save me from the wicked people who are trying to destroy me. Protect me from those who come to hurt me.

Keep me from the wicked who ·attack [mistreat] me, from my enemies who surround me.

Keep me from the wicked who attack me. Protect me from my enemies who surround me.

Hide me from wicked people who violently attack me, from my deadly enemies who surround me.

Protect me from the wicked men who attack me, my enemies who crowd around me for the kill.

Save me from the sinful people who want to destroy me. Save me from my deadly enemies who are all around me.

Protect me from wicked people who attack me, from murderous enemies who surround me.

Protect me there from all my foes. For there are many who surround my soul to completely destroy me.

Protect me from the wicked who are poised to attack, from the enemies swarming around me and closing in quickly.

-Psalm 17:9

(CEV, ERV, EXB, GW, ICB, TLB, NOG, NCV, NIRV, NLT, TPT, VOICE)

O God, our help in ages past,

Our hope for years to come,

Our shelter from the stormy blast,

And our eternal home;

Under the shadow of your throne

Your children dwell secure.

Sufficient is your arm alone,

And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,

Or earth received her frame,

From everlasting thou art God,

To endless years the same.

A thousand ages in your sight

Are like an evening gone,

Short as the watch that ends the night

Before the rising sun.

Amen, in ages past your hand sustained us

Amen, through all that’s coming, grace remains

Amen, our roots are anchored in your goodness

Amen, our trust is in your faithfulness

O God, our help in ages past,

Our hope for years to come,

Be thou our guide while life shall last,

And our eternal home.
